Learning environment

Post by follosdin »

Learning environments refer to the different physical places, contexts and cultures in which students learn. Because students can learn in a variety of settings, such as outside the school and outdoors, the term is often used as a more precise or preferable alternative to the classroom, which has a more limited and traditional meaning - row room.

The learning environment is the culture of learning and the physical environment created by teachers and students. This can happen in school buildings, outdoors, online and outside of school. The learning environment should provide children and adults with a sense of well-being and community, and offer frequent opportunities for interaction. A variety of culturally relevant and meaningful learning materials should be available, including visual exhibits, books, art supplies, etc.

Teachers may also argue that the learning environment has both direct and indirect influences on students' learning, including their engagement in what is taught, their motivation to learn, and their sense of well-being, belonging, and personal safety.
